Early Childhood
Early Childhood
Ages 3 - 5 years old
A Strong Foundation
Holy Cross Lutheran Early Education Childhood Center provides a nurturing and Christ-centered environment for young learners, offering a 3-year-old Pre-School program and a 4-year-old Pre-Kindergarten program. Serving children ages 3 (toilet trained) through Kindergarten, our programs are thoughtfully designed to support the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. With a developmentally appropriate balance of child-selected and teacher-directed activities, we foster a love of learning and prepare children for future academic success.
Early Education Learning Philosophy
Our approach to early education combines structured learning with opportunities for creative exploration. Each day is filled with activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving. Through hands-on, interactive experiences, we nurture the cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual growth of each child, helping them thrive in a supportive, faith-filled environment.
Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum
At Holy Cross, we emphasize hands-on, engaging learning tailored to each child’s developmental stage.
In the Early Education Center we offer:
Preschool (Age 3):
- Children are introduced to early math concepts like counting, matching, and recognizing shapes. Language and social skills are cultivated through music, crafts, reading, and nursery rhymes. The alphabet and basic Spanish vocabulary are presented in fun, interactive ways.
Pre-Kindergarten :
- Using the Saxon Early Learning Curriculum, children dive into alphabet recognition, letter sounds, and early writing. Math concepts such as number recognition, patterns, and shapes are introduced through enjoyable, age-appropriate methods. Additional subjects include literacy, science, social studies, technology, and fine arts, ensuring readiness for Kindergarten.
Faith-Centered Learning Environment
Faith is at the heart of everything we do. Daily prayer, Bible stories, and discussions about God’s Word provide a spiritual foundation that complements academic learning. This Christ-centered environment nurtures each child’s sense of purpose and connection to their community.
